Caroline Petrie, a nurse for the North Somerset Primary Care Trust got suspended for offering to say a Christian prayer for an elderly patient at the hospital. The elderly lady, she offered to do the prayer for, kindly refused and subsequently told another nurse who reported it to the relevant authorities.

Apparently, this was not the first time Caroline Petrie has acted in this manner; past incidents resulting in her being warned. Over 80 years ago, the sun set on the Ottoman Khilafah after centuries of being a world superpower. Although some argue that the Khilafah was dead and buried a long time before that; with the demise of Sultan Abdul Hameed II, the final bit of string that held the Muslim ummah together broke.

My fellow blogger Azad Ali wrote a blog a few weeks ago titled It’s foreign policy stupid! He was of course referring to one of the main contributing factors which disillusioned and alienated young British Muslims.

There are many international ‘adventures’ one can cite; Bush’s war on Iraq, which thus far cost over a million lives. Though British people overwhelmingly objected to what by any standard of International law was an illegal war. This did not sway Tony Blair, he preferred to hoodwink Britain into joining Bush’s war based on lies and deals struck previously in private.

We should all know the President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez who whilst delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly in 2006 said: “The devil came here yesterday,” referring to Bush’s address the day before. Today, I had to recuperate (back pain) after Saturday’s demonstration in Trafalgar Square attended by 50,000 people followed by the protest at the Zionist entity’s embassy. I wondered, if I am feeling like this with such a small effort, what about the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza.
