When Jean-François Jodar was appointed Head Coach of the Mali national football team, he apparently had to battle against the ’superiority complex’ that hampered the Eagles’ progress. This reminds me of the battle to tackle the same – almost narcissistic – superiority complex of a great number of Muslims.
It is this delusional reminiscing over past Muslim glories that is the biggest obstacle to our progress. The achievements of our early predecessors are indeed great and should be celebrated. But the point here is that, it is their achievement – not ours. The sad truth is that our recent history (with minor exceptions) was not that great, to put it mildly. Disgraceful would probably be more apt Continue reading The superiority complex

I’ve always been a democrat, and pleased to inform the Islamistas that I still remain a committed one. It seems my ‘faith’ in kratos by the demos has been vindicated by the London Mayoral elections.
Let me explain. It all started with a [very] hard fought election campaign, which sometimes descended into personal insults and scaremongering – on all sides. However the events from Friday (2 May) night onwards were a showcase of democracy at its best. The mayor-elect Johnson thanked and acknowledged his predecessor’s achievements and contribution to London, Ken Livingstone in turn wished his successor well and offered to help him in any way he can.
The defeated Ken Livingstone promptly cleared out his desk and become an ordinary member of the public. His key advisers resigned and the officers who feel they cannot support the policies of the new mayor are also slowly resigning.
This kind of election conduct (with a few exceptions) is the norm in most western democracies. Replace the names Boris and Ken with Muhammad and Abdullah, ignore their policies, and imagine that it was in a ‘decent’ Muslim country (it’s hard I know, but try) – wouldn’t this be something to aspire to for an Islamic state (Khilafa if you prefer)? Or so you you might be led to think, had you followed the lives and times of the magical six. Magical, because they seem to inhabit a world so far removed from reality that even Harry Potter would need to wake up.
Before you email your complaints – it’s Omar Brooks not Al-Khattab. I was trying to find references to Social Security benefits in the Qur’an and Ahadith, but sadly with my limited knowledge I failed. Perhaps I should ask Omar or Abdul Saleem…

The Evening Standard has finally done it. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any lower in the gutter, it decides to prove us wrong.
The paper would have us believe that ‘all Muslims’ have a secret agenda to get Ken Livingstone elected as London Mayor. Apparently, campaigning for a two-term mayor from the governing party must be a sinister thing to do? That’s not all, a suicide-bomb-advocating supporter of Hamas – Dr Azzam Tamimi – is also leading this conspiracy.
They would never dream of making such allegations of Ken’s Jewish supporters, and yes there are many out . . . → Read More: Dr Azzam Tamimi – sue the Evening Standard

Why is it that ‘d-list’ celebs like Ed Husain – yes the nauseous variety – always say whatever is fashionable at the time?
First, he associated himself with mainstream Muslim groups like Young Muslim Organisation. Then came the rebellious attitude amongst (some) Muslim youth in the from of Hizbut Tahrir – naturally he jumped ship. When HT became unacceptable, he decided to leave and become a ’sufi’. Apparently that’s what all Muslims should be – so the government tells us. So Mahbub became Ed.
As the new eastablishment darling, Ed (ie government policy) dictated that HT must be banned. The government has now . . . → Read More: D-List ‘Celeb’ Ed Husain (pun intended)

Muslims now the largest faith community
Muslims have apparently overtaken Catholics as the largest faith group in the world. You might think that’s a good thing as this confirms the prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad. He said that Muslims will one day be very many in number. Personally I’m not that thrilled – he also said they (we) will be like the scum in the sea. Was this where the saying ’scum of the earth’ came from? Hope not.
Yet another benchmark reached of the depths the ummah will sink…
