According to the Mail on Sunday the Department for Communities & Local Government (DCLG) held a meeting in 2006 to force 17 local authorities to snoop on its Muslim population under the leadership of Ruth Kelly, then in charge of the Department.

Same dirt, new shovel!

Next week is the launch of the Quilliam Foundation by new age ‘Muslim revivers’ – Majid Nawaz, Ed Husain, Rashad Ali et al. The following week is the launch (well re-launch) by the ’secularists’ – ie the British Muslims for Secular Democracy. This BMSD includes the likes of Ghayasuddin Siddiqui of the defunct Muslim Parliament (I dream of the day when a Muslim women can marry a non-Muslim man), Yasmin Alibhai Brown (I recently discovered that I’m Muslim, not Black) and Taj Hargey (denier of Hadith). They have seven supporters – yes seven!

When is a Terrorist not a Terrorist?

Do you recall the days when Omar Bakri used to make outlandish claims or ‘Sheikh’ Faisal telling us that it’s okay to rob a ‘kafir’ bank to raise money for the mujahideen? Shocked, most of us couldn’t understand why the authorities did nothing about these people. Well – it’s back again. Losing the plot?

With the vast array of Terrorism laws that have been introduced, a burning question is: do these laws target Muslims? Yes – according to the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, they do!

I would go a step further and say that it targets Islam as well as its adherents. How? Well, excluding the laws that legislate against the killing of innocent people (which already exists) the majority of the new laws target things like ‘extremism’, ‘radicalisation’ and ‘ideology’.
