This was the claim by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, in his description of Shari’ah.
The full quote, “Sharia consists of a set of principles governing the way that one should live one’s life in accordance with the will of God. These principles are based on the Qu’ran, as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad and interpreted by Islamic scholars. The principles have much in common with those of other religions. They do not include forced marriage or the repression of women.”
What bewildered me about the coverage of the speech was the reticence to highlight this message! What would cause the media to leave out this important clarification of Islamophobic prejudices? Continue reading ‘They do not include forced marriage or the repression of women’.

Reading the about the torture of Mohammed Omer brought tears to my eyes. Whilst the media is busy with telling us of the incident in Jerusalem as some ‘bulldozer rampage’ we hear nothing from the very same media about the 10 Palestinians that have been kidnapped by Israel!
Nor were we informed about the torture of Mohammad Omer as a news item, rather we rely on comments by John Pilger.
The game that is being played is called ‘fair and balance’. How ironic, can you imagine ‘fair and balanced’ journalism during Hitler’s reign of terror? Do you read the ‘fair and balanced’ reports about the war on terror, where you get Al-Qaeda’s perspective? Continue reading ‘Demolish Palestinian social, economic and cultural life’

The war on terror rages on with more gusto and illegality than we would like to believe. The change in language by Western governments seems to be just that - lip service. In the United States for example, the clandestine war against Iran – and those that do not cower to its demands – continues to receive money, intelligence and logistical help in ever increasing amounts.
Seymour Hersh’s recent article in the New Yorker epitomises this. In the article we are told how the CIA and other security services of America are actively funding proscribed terrorist organisations like the Mujahideen-e-Khalq. Continue reading Do as I say, not as I do.

Samina Malik has won an appeal against her conviction for collecting information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, under s.58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Indeed, many were appalled at the conviction of Samina and the conflation and confusion that surrounded her case. We had the Islamophobic elements of the media portraying (and in the process confusing all of us) Samina as a ‘wanna-be terrorist’, or more precisely the ‘Lyrical terrorist’. One that helped to build the persona that she was convicted because of her poetry. And on . . . → Read More: Samina is vindicated!

We have an echo of ‘bruiser’ Reid’s theory that Muslim parents are to blame for their children turning to extremism. Dr Farhan Nizami, who is apparently an advisor to Prince Charles on Islam, allegedly accused ‘Muslims of failing to make sure their children learn to speak English or supporting them in their education.’
To be shocked at such an opinion is an understatement. As anyone who has been in the UK longer than Dr Nizami will attest to – we parents are struggling to teach our children their mother tongue (ancestral) languages not English! My 6 year-old son cannot utter . . . → Read More: No to assimilation!

How many of you knew about the exposure of Hasan Butt? It seems he has finally been exposed for the fraudster that he is and the lies that he has told. Nick Cohen - the ardent Islamophobe must feel mortified knowing that he has to eat his words like “he did not simply leave the al-Qaeda training camps on the Pakistan-Afghanistan borders and write a few articles when he came home, but transformed himself into a tireless opponent of extremism. He has encouraged about a dozen others to quit al-Qaeda.” and “Needless to add, he has been stabbed by his (and our) sworn enemies and lives with the knowledge that there are people out there who want him dead.”
You’re right Nick – Hasan did not leave the al-Qaeda camps – he’s never seen one. He tells the police that he has never met anyone from Al-Qaeda, nor has he ever been to any of their camps! But it gets worse for Nick as he tells us how Butt was stabbed and that his life was in danger. Well guess what Butt says to the police? “… I stabbed myself… you know, it was just part of the whole scam.” Are you joining the dots yet Nick? Continue reading BUTT – I lied!
