You might find the headline a little peculiar, but in so many ways that is the truth for the Palestinians – they can never do enough to please Israel as long as they live on their own land. We can only imagine the backroom dealings of the pro-Israeli and pro occupation predators that work tirelessly to maintain the status quo, the question on many people’s mind is will Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) stand firm in his bid for UN recognition of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders? Martin Bright the ‘self-confessed Islamophobe’ is the political editor of the paper which published an article, under the headline “This Was No Peace Activist” by Geoffrey Alderman, glorifying the killing of an innocent peace activist Vittorio Arrigon, with the statement: “Few events – not even the execution of Osama bin Laden – have caused me greater pleasure in recent weeks than news of the death of the Italian so-called ‘peace activist’ Vittorio Arrigoni.”
Bright’s hatred towards the Palestinians is illustrated when he attacks a trustee of London Citizens under the headline “London Citizens stand by Islamist hardliner”, and accuses Junaid Ahmed of supporting ‘Hamas terrorist leaders’.
The [false] premise in his ranting is that ‘Hamas is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK.’ This of course is not the case at all. A simple visit to the Home Office website reveals Continue reading Newspaper that takes ‘pleasure’ in peace activist’s death, teaching virtue!
The recent hullabaloo regarding Usama Hasan and his public pronouncements on matters of Islamic belief, has drawn an interesting line between the Muslim communities in the UK. There are many issues regarding Usama’s latest controversy, but I want to focus on two issues. Leaving aside the personalities, it’s very interesting how and where some people (those shouting the loudest) chose to draw their line.
Usama was asked the question, “You believe that Adam’s parents may have been apes”? To which he replied, “Sayyidina Adam alayhis salam… Yes, this is a matter of science etc. Continue reading Denying clear Islamic principles and inciting violence – both are unacceptable
As the elections get closer, the ever decreasing naysayers start to bring out their messages of abstention and exclusion. There was a time, maybe a decade or two ago, when there used to be debate on political participation by Muslims living in the West.
These days the overwhelming majority of Muslim scholars have not only said that political participation is allowed but that it is to be encouraged. Amongst these majority voices are the largest body of Muslim scholars, the Fiqh Council of Jidda headed by the Mufti of Saudi Arabia along with scholars such as Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, Shaykh Bin Bayyah , Dr Wahba Zuhaili, Dr Taha Jabir al-’Awani, Shaykh Abdul Karim Zaydan, Dr. Munir Farid Wasil, former Mufti of Egypt, Shaykh Nizam Yaqubi, Shaykh Haitham al-Haddad from the Islamic Sharia Council, Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam from Darul Iftaa in Leicester, Mufti Zubair Butt from the Al Qalam Institute, Shaykh Muhammad Al-Mukhtar Al-Shinqiti, Shaykh Salman Al Awdah, Shaykh Muhammad Salih al-Munajjid and Maulana Khalilul Rahman Sajjad Nomani Nadwi. The list goes on, but I think you get the point.

Andrew ‘I have considerable doubt as to how reliable Gilligan’s evidence really is’ opens another diatribe against Muslims with the words “I proudly present today’s post”. What is fast becoming clear is his pride in unleashing racism, violence and hatred towards Muslims. Gilligan has emphatically stated that he has a personal vendetta against IFE and its members on our show (Easy Talk) over the weekend – he followed this admission with the threat ‘Don’t imagine this to end’! Continue reading Gilligan fails to condemn racism & threats of violence
Andrew ‘I have considerable doubt as to how reliable Gilligan’s evidence really is’ Gilligan really does not like being ignored does he? Take a look at his new article in the Telegraph, he laments how no-one else is taking up his year-long project and reporting on it. Even after getting his friend Douglas ‘conditions for Muslims in Europe must be made harder across the board’ Murray to help. He accuses those who are ignoring his ‘revelations’ of being scared. Of course it would never occur to him that maybe there is absolutely nothing there other than innuendo, sensationalists dramatisation, and as we established yesterday, ‘dishonest’ methods deployed to conjure up an illusion.
