Gem2: Glad tidings O you who believe! For these eight gates of the Garden have been opened on your account. And its fragrant breeze has diffused upon the hearts of the believers.
All the gates of the Fire have been closed on your account. The feet of the devil and of his offspring have been shackled. In this month revenge is taken on Iblis (satan), and the sinful ones free themselves from his captivity, he now has no influence over them.
He used to nourish his hatchlings with desires in his nests. Today they have fled from those nests. They have smashed his fortress with the pickaxes of repentance and seeking forgiveness, fled from his prison to the safety of the citadel of Taqwa and Faith, and protected themselves from the punishment of the Fire.
They broke his back with the word of Tawhid, he (Iblis) complains from the pain of dejection, in every season of virtue he is depressed, and in this month he curses for what he sees of descending mercy and forgiveness of sins. The party of Al-Rahman have become victorious and the party of Shaytan have fled, no power of their’s remains except over those who disbelieve. The authority of desires has been sacked and the authority of taqwa has ascended to take the reigns of power in the land.
Servants of Allah, half of Ramadan has already passed so who amongst you have called himself to account for the sake of Allah with justice? Who amongst you has truly discharged the rights of this month as it should be discharged? Who amongst you has determined before the gates of paradise are locked to build chambers upon chambers?
Indeed the month is decreasing, so increase in your deeds! It is as though the month has already passed. Every month that passes a substitute in place of it is hoped for, but alas for the month of Ramadan from where do you hope to replace it?
The month has halved and its sorrows have been demolished, Those who served it have been promised the Garden,
The heedless destitute has become broken hearted like me, Woe unto him how immense that which he has been deprived of ,
Whosoever the time of planting seeds passes by, Has nothing but sorrow and regret at the time of harvest,
So glad tiding whose provisions were Taqwa, In this month, and who grasped firmly to the rope of Allah.
