The Evening Standard has now confirmed that they have received our complaint and have asked their Managing Editor (managingeditor@standard.co.uk) to investigate.
Given the experience of many people who have told us that the Mail Online website does not publish their critical comments, it seems the Mail on Sunday (the original sinners) could not be bothered to even acknowledge our complaint (emailed to news@mailonsunday.co.uk).
I have now followed this up and spoken to David Dillon, News Editor of the Mail on Sunday. He has asked me to email the complaint to him david.dillon@mailonsunday.co.uk and john.wellington@mailonsunday.co.uk. I am now waiting for them to just acknowledge the complaint…
Although I have written to the Evening Standard, the Mail on Sunday and the Daily Telegraph (telegraphenquiries@telegraph.co.uk) about their false and unacceptable allegations about Azad Ali and his blog – readers who are similarly outraged should also feel free to complain. If these papers do not allow critical comments on their websites – there is always the option to email them directly.
If they receive enough complaints, they will soon realise that there are a good number of people who will not accept their shoddy journalism.
I would remind readers that it’s best to only complain about issues/articles which they feel are factually incorrect, misleading or otherwise inaccurate. Polite and specific points will hopefully oblige them to reply. Unlike the website comments, they cannot just delete and ignore critical voices.
I have taken the time to read Mr Ali’s blog and the articles in question.
This sort of character assasination and witch hunt of prominent personalities was prevalent during Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Russia.
Now, make of these stories what you will!
The good citizens of Britain, can and shall, see ‘beneath the lines’ of these fabricated lies that aren’t even put together well. It’s inciting hatred, giving ammunition to the fascist far right BNP, fuelling extremism against minority communities.
If one reads the blog – the articles are a classis case of attempting to frame someone who’s clearly moderating a debate. And i guess – there are hundreds, if not thousands of civil/public officials doing the same – will they frame them? Of course not, those individuals don’t suit the profile!

We’ll should we be surprised that theses papers have misrepresented the views of a prominent member of the Muslim community? We should not believe every word they say. When someone is doing a good job to take forward the views of the Muslims in the UK the media always tries to portray them as extremist. Mr A Ali should be given the opportunity by these papers to defend the article and explain what was really said and in what context.
Mr Azad i have seen you blogg and frankly think that the Daily Mail as per usual have decided to twist peoples words as usual.
As a prominent British Jew i condemn the the action of the Daily Mail as out right ludicrous and as attempt by the Zionists to marginalize moderate members of the Muslim community who are trying todo their part to tackle extremism in general in Britain, whether it be from Muslims, Jews, or the BNP or whoever.
Keep up the good work Mr Azad. and God Bless America… actually i retract the last line.
There is no suprise that papers like the Mail and Mail on Sunday have reported on this and spread this lie……they have nothing better to do. Billy Ramell joker!
Can someone please update the work situation of Azad Ali. When will they reinstate him?
Very sad to read such report by daily mail or any other newspapers. It make me sick when I see newspapers hide true stories and publish with some junk….shame on them.
