The barbaric onslaught on Gaza is coming to its fourth week and the murder of over a thousand mostly innocent men, women and children still has not induced any real protest or condemnation from the international community [especially the countries that matter] – how many more innocent Palestinians lives are to be lost until we see justice prevail?

The images of the cruel and inhumane destruction by the Zionist state has left many people hopeless and dejected. But Israel, with the fourth largest military in the world, has not yet and will not accomplish its objective to destroy Hamas’s capability of firing rockets. The people of Gaza are resisting and they will never be dishonoured.

What the Zionists fail to grasp is that the Gazans, whether or not they succeed in repelling the ‘dogs’ from their land, will come out of this calamity as winners. If Israel succeeds military, the people of Gaza will win politically, and if the Zionists succeed politically they will be unsuccessful militarily. It’s a win-win situation for Palestinians, even with their death toll rising daily, their resilience and courage inspires anyone who listens to their valiant words.

The world may pity the people of Gaza but we as Muslims have firm conviction that they are blessed because they are defending Islam and the sacred land from the barbarian invaders. Allow me to remind myself and the readers of some significant Ahadith pertaining to the land of Sham [which includes Palestine] and its constant struggle against injustice.

‘On the authority of Zaid ibn Thabit the Prophet said, ‘’How blessed is al-Sham’’! The companions around asked, ‘’Why is that’’? The messenger replied, ‘’I see the angels of Allah spreading their wings over al-Sham’’. (Ahmad and Tirmidhi)

‘Abdullah ibn Umar reports that the Prophet said, ‘’There will be migration upon migration. The best of the inhabitants of the earth will reside where Prophet Ibrahim migrated [Jerusalem]’’.’ (Abu Dawud)

This report indicate that the people of Palestine are upon the truth fighting injustice and oppression and that they will gain victory over their adversaries.

‘Abu Hurayrah relates that the Prophet said, “A group of my community will not cease to fight at the gates of Damascus and at the gates of al-Quds and its surroundings. The betrayal or desertion of whoever deserts them will not harm them in the least. They will remain victorious, standing for truth, until the Final Hour rises”. (Tabarani)

We pray that Allah keeps the people of Gaza safe, grant their dead martyrdom and opens the door for us to his mercy and company. Ameen.
