Hugo the Brave

We should all know the President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez who whilst delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly in 2006 said: “The devil came here yesterday,” referring to Bush’s address the day before. And making the sign of the cross added, “He came here talking as if he were the owner of the world.” He has done something that no other nation (sadly including the theifdoms we all call Muslim countries) has dared to do thus far.

President Chavez has expelled the Israeli ambassador to Venezuela.

In a television address he called the attack an act of ‘barbarism’ and said: “The president of Israel should be taken before an international court together with the president of the United States, if the world had any conscience.” And said of those who are carrying out this brutal assault: “They are cowards – bombing innocent people. What great soldiers they are, how brave the soldiers of Israel are.”

I congratulate President Chavez for speaking up whilst other world leaders shake with fear (of losing their thrones). He has gained the respect and admiration not only of the Palestinians but also of decent justice loving people around the world.

Mr Chavez, you have carried out a great ‘Jihad’. You have spoken the truth to the face of unjust tyrants – for which you shall receive just reward in this life.

I hope that having seen the example of Venezuela, other countries will follow and I hope that we in this country will support the stance taken by Venezuela by writing letters of approval to the Venezuelan embassy here in the UK.
