Some thoughts on the news, religion and life in general
HP – a sauce worth avoiding!
With nearly 5,000 words spanning 5 articles and as many days and countless hours, David Toube has tried to slander, smear and malign me with cheap ‘copy & paste’ of my blogs, quotes and interviews spanning years. Yet the best he could come up with is innuendos and an obscene imagination. The bottom line is, David Toube is upset (!) that I have achieved what I have! A friend emailed me to say that ‘it’s the initials of your name that did it for him, AA = Abdullah Azzam & Anwar Awlaki!’.
In the first blog, ‘Azad Ali: The Jihad Lover and the Civil Service’ by Habibi (too scared to reveal his name) supported by David Toube, tries the Jihadist line on me. Obviously reading the entire blog was too much for both of them – but at least there are some sane bloggers there who have and appreciate the point that I made. Extremism – in all forms and in any matter is wrong.
The second blog [by David T himself] advises Harry’s Place (HP) bloggers on who are ‘Our Friends, Our Enemies’ and tries hard to portray me as a member of some sort of sleeper cell! He goes to town in this one getting out his “reds under every bed” mantra! One of the bloggers reading this felt as I did that David T needs some fresh air and a walk round the block several times! Or even a long walk on a very short pier!
The third blog ‘Azad Ali: Nuclear Weapons for Iran, but not the United Kingdom ‘ talks about my views on nuclear weapons and states that I want it for Iran but not the UK. Here David T tries (fails miserably) to point out double-speak on my part. He first quotes a speech I delivered for the MCB on how Islam views nuclear weapons and the MCB position on it, and then quotes my interview on Islam Channel where I talk about the rights of Iran or any other nation to have access to weapons so that they can defend themselves. Just before the second quote David T honours me by referring to me as ‘Mr Azzam’, just too many A’s for the poor lad! The fact that Abdullah Azzam rejected Osama and his ideas seems to have completely escaped David T’s mind.
On this matter David T says, “No-one threatens it – not even Israel. Well, it had some problems with Iraq, but those seem to have subsided.”
This is in response to the discussion that all the countries that have nuclear weapons do so for good reason, i.e. they’re threatened by other nations. David Toube claims that “No-one threatens it – not even Israel” – so all you peeps out there that heard Bush, Obama and the Zionists make threats against Iran – you’re all just delusional!
Just as he is not aware of the threats made against Iran – he is unable to understand the difference between what my view is from an Islamic point of view and what the logical rights are for countries who want to join the nuclear club.
In his fourth blog, Toube goes on about cola companies and what they have or have not done in supporting the Zionist project. He quotes my responses to a HMD discussion at UmmahPulse. I am still trying to work out what he is trying to achieve here.
In his fifth blog Toube attempts to break the ‘da vinci code’ which is imbedded in my musings – alas he fails here too.
Basically Toube and his elves try to create a persona of me which is so far removed from reality that the only choice one has is to ignore it.
If David Toube has something specific he wishes to debate then the door is open. I had asked him to post here and challenge my views specifically and I will respond, yet he failed to do so. Instead he pens half-baked nonsense on his own site. So until he demonstrates some backbone, coherence and sanity – I will leave him to play by himself, as this seems to be his favourite pastime.
When dealing with such characters, a quote that springs to mind is “Don’t argue with fools, because people from a distance can’t tell who is who.”

It seems that the only Muslims that HP can accept are those that won’t have an opinon on politics and world affairs or otherwise engage in public life. If you stand up to be counted you’ll eventually find yourself on its hit list. One by one, insinuations are made against respected individuals and institutions. Soon the only Muslims that will have the approval of HP are a coterie of the usual suspects of ex-extremists.

Hi
Have had half an ear on what has been going on Azad. I am glad to hear that this smear campaign against you has been successfully dealt with legally and online. It seems that the poison pen of Toube and others is just that – a poisoned pen, how many more good citizens of this country, Muslims, Gentiles, Jews whether they be Academics, Civil Servants or ‘nobodies’ like me, will be in the firing line in the coming 12 months having their words and political integrity twisted beyond recognition? I had (and still have to a lesser extent) my own personal little hate-campaign going on against me last summer – from Harry’s Place to CiF Guardian to YouTube and the laughable but certifiably insane CiFWatch. I have come to the same conclusion, they are quite frankly around the bend with brass knobs on and best ignored and dealt with through legal channels.
